NAS Devices

NAS devices, or Network Attached Storage devices are hard drive enclosures that provide the ability to share out their storage space to multiple users on a network or even across the Internet.  A NAS device normally runs it's own operating system to manage access to the hard drives and the services it provides.  Generally the small consumer grade NAS devices run a derivative of Linux.  However most users do not need to know the workings or Linux as the management and configuration of the NAS is all done through an easy to use web interface.  If you can browse the internet, then you should have no problem using your NAS.
